Stay healthy stay home
As we all know that we are under a lock down for 21 days.In these 21 days we need to take care of our psychological health, physical health and mental health. It is an important period of the decade where our emotional health can be dealt by enjoying this lock down period with our own family members, playing games, having good conversation with them as we were too busy to talk to our own loved ones earlier. Spend this quality time with your loved ones and this will boost your emotions.
Mental health
We should practice meditation. Engaging ourselves in daily chores, helping each other out in daily chores and listening to good music often releases the stress. Do not watch negative news for too long, to stay updated with the COVID 19 news, 15 mins of the day would be good enough. Watch some good movies you have missed watching due to your busy schedules earlier,because now is the time to make most of it .Dance with your partner and children, play board games with them. This will help you strengthen the family bonds. It is our perception towards the situation as we cannot do our jobs and business, either we sit sad in our homes and get frustrated or we enjoy this period by keeping ourselves occupied in family laughter and fun times.
Physical health
It means fitness.You will be fit by doing regular exercises like zumba, walking, jogging, yoga, pranayam, Surya
namaskar etc. at home. Those who have been going to a gym can practice Squatting, Crunches ,Stretching, Push-ups, leg exercises planks , skipping rope, playing badminton in your own premises.This will help you to keep busy mentally and physically
It improves our immunity for longer activities and exercises do not require you to go out of your house. These activities can be performed in very less space available also. Endorphins is a hormone boosted immunity during exercises , and preserves our skeletal muscles .
Balance meals
Balance nutrition and fitness is directly proportional to each other .Proper quantity of Carbohydrates, proteins, fats and vitmins are very essential.
Boosting immunity is a regular process proper meal, water and exercise keeps your metabolism boosted, and builds strong immunity. It’s our reservoir which can be used when ever it is needed in a proper way .
Consuming a meal having pulses ,milk, curd, paneer ,buttermilk or any other milk product gives proteins to our diet. Soyabean, tofu, soya milk also good source of vegetarian sources. Proteins along with vitamins like A, C and D, they help us to fight infections and are also known as immuno boosting foods.
This all we can obtained from fruits, nuts, dry fruits and vegetables. Seeds now a days play an important role in immuno boosting as they are power house of the vitamins.
Consumption of vitamin C that can be from Amla, lemon,oranges, kiwi . Other rich sources are sprouts of moong, moth and chana, these are rich sources.
During this period of lock down I would recommend you all to eat simple,healthy, fresh home cooked meals. Avoid fatty or oily food because as we are not working or exercising much compared to earlier, so the calories would burn less which could lead to gaining weight. Home cooked simple meals, consuming them on proper time would be a key in keeping yourself fit and most of all keeping a positive attitude.
STAY FIT. STAY POSITIVE.
Stay positive as this period shall be over soon and we won’t get this quality time with our family. This is the time for extra busy parents to educate and inculcate good habits whether it be food, spiritual and social values.
